  • October 24th and 25th 2013, Swarthmore College presented a music and dance project, Skins & Songs, & Steps. A collaboration project including Spoken Hand Percussion Ensemble, Philip Hamilton Voices alongside world dance ensemble Kulu Mele, Three Aksha and Eddie Smallwood.

  • October 6th 2013, Three Aksha Dance ensemble presented are Pushkara and Aarambha at Colonial Auditorium, Plymouth Meeting, PA

  • October 20th 2012, Three Aksha Ensemble of Philadelphia performed their new production “Pushkara” at Allentown Symphony Hall, Allentown, PA.
  • October 19th 2012, “3 x 3Movement Voices for a Bharatanatyam Dancer” A solo presentation conceived and performed by Viji Rao.  A Hindu goddess in three of her many incarnations: Devi, life-force of the universe, Durga, invisible warrior, Kali, fierce destroyer. Choreography in three Indian dance forms by Professor C.V. Chandrasekhar, Classical Bharatanatyam. Hari Krishnan, Contemporary Bharatanatyam and Santosh Nair, Chhau.
  • October 11th, 12th and 13th 2012, Three Aksha Dance Ensemble in collaboration with Lenny Seidman Tabala Choir presented “Jhulna” A meeting point between the sensuous expression and strong rhythm of Indian classical dance and dynamism of world music was performed at Painted Bride Arts Center, Philadelphia, PA.

  • September 28, 2011, Viji Rao presented a solo Bharatanatyam presentation at Brendan Wood Community Auditorium, Voorhees, New Jersey.
  • September 24, 2011, Viji Rao and Three Aksha presented the production “Uurja” at Elkin’s Oval as part of Indian community event in Philadelphia.
  • July 1-13, 2011: Viji Rao and Three Aksha toured to Europe with production “Uurja” with five dancers. The performances occurred in Pescara, Italy, Paris, France and Berlin, Germany.

  • Sam-Gam BAM! an unexpected trio of dance companies serendipitously connect in a presentation of classical and experimental American and South Indian Dance all aligned bringing together Group Motion, Headlong Dance Theatre, and Three Aksha. Performances dates: June 17, 18, and 19 and June 23, 24, and 25, 2011. Venue: Mandell Theatre, Philadelphia.
  • May 27, 2011, a four-hour workshop for the students of Bodine High School in Philadelphia, on Classical Indian Dance followed by solo presentation.
  • April 29-30, 2011, “Aniika: Love is a Battlefield”As part of the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, inspired by the artistic spirit of 20th-century Paris, experimental performance artist Ryat, Cuban-born percussionist and composer Francois Zayas, and Viji Rao, combine their creative talents in live music, dance, video, and spoken word. Aniika premiered at the Painted Bride Arts Center on April 29-30, 2011.
  • April 15, 2011, Three Aksha presented “Uurja” at Pfleeder Hall in Rowan University as a part of International Day.
  • December 3, 2010 through January 2, 2011, Viji Rao toured to India for solo presentations.

  • April 23-24, 2010, Viji Rao and Three Aksha ensemble presented “ABHIKA” as a part of International month celebration at the Willow Valley community, in Willow valley, PA.
  • April 13, 2010, Viji Rao and Three Aksha presented “Abhika” and “PRAYOG” at the Jean Ruddy dance studio, as part of Dance Showcase presented by Dance U.S.A Philadelphia.
  • April 10, 2010, Viji Rao and Three Aksha presented “ABHIKA” at Pfleeder Hall in Rowan University as a part of International Day.
  • February 21, 2010, Three Aksha ensemble and Viji Rao, presented “ABHIKA” at painted bride arts centre, Philadelphia.
  • November 2, 2009, Viji Rao presented a weeklong dance workshop followed by a dance performance at the York College, PA.
